Ikea Garlic MincerPad Thai Sauce in Ikea Dish

We are big fans of IKEA. Paul, a designer, appreciates the classic lines of the products. I appreciate the prices. Not all of IKEA's products speak to everyone. However, I want to share a few products I believe should speak to everyone. They are the products I would never want to live without.

First, and almost daily used, is my garlic press. The handle is shaped well. The press part is on a hinge for easy cleaning and ensuring all garlic is pressed completely. I researched many garlic mincers before purchasing this one. I like the metal. I don't like plastic. I like the size. It takes up less room than others I have had. I like the round shape of the barrel. There is no exact way the filter must be put into place. And the pieces of garlic fit perfectly.

Secondly, I like the napkin selections--especially the ones with a variety of colors. I believe in plain white table cloths. They are easier to clean and are often cheaper. I found the best way to add color is to pick up some spicy napkins. It's an easier, cheaper, and non-committal way to decorate.

Lastly, I have some lovely votive candle holders. They came in a pack of four labeled "Galej Tealight Holder". These holders are clear and thick. They taper to the bottom and do not have and indention on the inside to keep the botive in place. This makes them useable as dipping dishes. I call them "perfect". My dream is to have a party where special bread or chrackers can be served with four different dips and arranged beautifully in these candle holders. Until then, I'll find uses at my dinner table.
