Today there is no recipe or kitchen gadget recommendation. Today I can only share some advice from a very wise man, Don B. Martin. At his funeral, the biggest announcement was that every meal was "the best I ever had."
A minister by trade, he never tired of spreading Jesus' love to everyone (even after he retired). And everywhere the family moved, there was always a garden. He had a great talent for making things grow. This weekend the garden gave perfectly ripe eggplant that sat on the kitchen counter with all the other food donations. The peanuts were still hiding, but the basil plant rivals ours. He was so proud of that garden, and rightly so. He instilled a great passion in all of his kids to eat well and to have tasty and healthy foods at their disposal.
Enjoying variety, focusing on freshness, and having a positive attitude can make every meal a big deal. Today, may I wish for you the opportunity to say "That was the best I ever had."
