Sesame Crackers-Recipe from NYT

Whole Grain Sesame Crackers-Sweet and Savory

Sweet on the left. Savory on the right.

Ever since my nutrition class (that happened longer ago than I care to think about) told me how important sesame seeds were to the vegetarian diet because they are high in iron, I've liked them. Not that I didn't love sesame hamburger buns before. But I really had interest in them after that. Which is why this very recent recipe from the New York Times food blog got my attention.

I'm happy to say I had wonderful success with the sesame cracker recipe. I love that the recipe uses 100% whole wheat flour. I love that the crackers were so easy to make. I love that they weren't too messy to make. And I love that you get four dozen in one batch because crackers disappear quickly at my house. Oh, and did I mention the one gram of fiber per cracker? I've really enjoyed these and will be looking forward to maybe adding some fresh herbs from our garden to the recipe in the future.

Give them a shot! And if you know of a great, healthy cracker recipe, please share it below.
