I'm late getting this posted today, but I think I have a very good reason. These are photos of Nora's birthday "cupcakes" a month ago. We chose to make homemade cupcakes instead of buying such things. Many people have allergies, and store bought ones can be so expensive and have such high sugar.
Two weeks ago, we celebrated our daughter's first birthday. We had a wonderful, rainy weekend and loved spending a little extra time with our friends and family on the special occasion. The party was originally set to be at our favorite park, but it was chilly and rainy. We couldn't reschedule because I had 48 large cupcakes and 24 small cupcakes already made. We relocated the even to our house and still enjoyed a fabulous celebration even in tighter quarters.
I learned about Grom during my pre-Paris meal researching online from David Lebovitz, a popular reviewer of Paris dining. True to recommendations and reviews, Grom was beyond fantastic.
We once came across Haagen Daz's special Pomegranate Dark Chocolate Ice Cream. The color was not inviting and the flavor wasn't fresh, but the concept was good. When my in-laws were in town, I purchased a nice selection of pomegranates from Costco and watched as my husband and his father took it apart. I'm sure they will both remember to wear an apron, but not to wear a white shirt, in the future. Meanwhile, my mother shaved some fine European Dark Chocolates that my in-laws had brought as a gift. A regular cheese grater works well. The key is choosing exceptional chocolates. And dark chocolates in this case are highly recommended over milk chocolates.
