Nick Cannon Is Apparently A “Very Present” And “Accommodating” Father Who Doesn’t Deserve The “Hard Time” He Gets (2025)

Last month, Nick Cannon was brutally roasted after he told People that he was looking forward to giving all of his kids “the opportunity to connect and give [him] gifts” for Father’s Day.

As you’re probably aware, Nick has welcomed a dozen children with six different women over the years, and people were tickled by his choice of words.

Giving his kids — who are aged between 13 years and 18 months — the “opportunity” to bond with him was likened to everything from a “meet & greet,” to a “reality competition” on X, with one person tweeting: “‘opportunity’ is a diabolical word to use in reference to allowing your kids to spend time with you.”

However, one of Nick’s coparents has now come forward to defend his honor, insisting that he is a “good and present” father to their son.

Selling Sunset star Bre Tiesi shares 2-year-old Legendary Love with Nick, and opened up to Entertainment Tonight at Legendary’s recent birthday party.

Speaking to the publication, Bre showered praise on the way that Nick works his schedule around his kids.

"He manages it really well. I feel like that's why no one ever hears anything; because we're all happy. We all make it work," she said. “He's such a good person, genuinely, and he really cares, and he does want to be there, and he's never gonna blow anything off."

"It makes it easier when you're doing things because you know he's gonna make the effort, and he's gonna show up,” Bre added.

She also admitted that she is confused by the public’s reaction to Nick’s many children, saying: “He is a great father. I don't know why people give him such a hard time, like, if there's anything that man genuinely cares about, it's being a good and present dad, and he makes it work.”

Bre went on to insist that all six of his children’s moms feel the same way, saying: "None of us have any issues or anything, so I feel like it's about the kids, and they're gonna always be first."

"Nick is very good at accommodating whatever is requested," she added. “He's very present; anything I ask for, he's there. Any, like, milestones or photo shoots or anything. I try to always accommodate him as well, because he is very busy, and he does have multiple productions and everything else."

"It's really all about being a team, and that way, it really makes it easy for him to show up, and I'm not setting him up for failure," Bre concluded.

In addition to Legendary Love, Nick is dad to 13-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, who he shares with his ex-wife Mariah Carey.

He also shares 7-year-old Golden Sagon, 3-year-old Powerful Queen, and 2-year-old Rise Messiah with Brittany Bell, 2-year-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, and 19-month-old Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa, 21-month-old Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole, and 18-month-old Halo Marie with Alyssa Scott.

Nick and Alyssa are also mom and dad to their son Zen, who was born in June 2021 and diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer at 2 months old. Zen tragically died at just 5 months old in December 2021.

And Bre’s comments about Nick’s dedicated approach to fatherhood appear to be backed up by the Father’s Day posts that he received last month.

Moroccan called Nick “the best father ever” in a heartfelt Instagram post, adding: “you have guided me through so much, and making me feel safe, strong, protected, and loved. you are the funniest strongest guy ever. thanks for everything dad, i love you from the bottom and top of my heart!”

Over on her own profile, Monroe wrote: “Happy fathers day to the best dad in the world!! I love you daddy ❤️❤️”

Meanwhile, Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir, and Beautiful Zeppelin’s mom, Abby, paid tribute to Nick on her Instagram story, writing: “We honor who you are not just today but every day.”

LaNisha shared a collage of photos of Nick with their daughter Onyx and referred to him as “Onyx's twin,” and Alyssasurprised Nick at work with their daughter Halo.

Of course Bre also honored Nick, writing on Instagram at the time: “Words can’t express the depth of my gratitude and appreciation for you and all that you do for our family. We love you and we will celebrate you today and everyday."
